February is creeping up on us fast, so it must be time for the Xbox Games with Gold announcement for February 2018! Next month’s games include:

Shadow Warrior, a reboot of the popular shooter from the late 90’s, has a solid Metacritic score of 74. In their review, IGN said that Shadow Warrior’s “…excellent fast-paced swordplay and surprising story make Lo Wang’s comeback tour a great success.”

Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India earns a slightly less impressive 64 on Metacritic, but if you enjoyed the series other 2.5D entries you may enjoy Arbaaz Mir’s adventures in India.

The first Xbox 360 backward compatible game in February’s Games with Gold list has a bit of a reputation as an under the radar gem that a lot of people might have missed. Split/Second earned a very respectable 82 on Metacritic with IGN UK praising it as “…an explosive shot of distilled arcade energy; it’s action that’s fueled by the slick production of the Hollywood A-list, and racing that’s infused with an infectious amount of fun.”

This month’s weakest title is probably Crazy Taxi, an HD re-release of the Dreamcast classic, but without the amazing soundtrack from The Offspring. Coming in at a 59 on Metacritic, it might be worth playing for nostalgia’s sake, but don’t expect too much.

February is a short month, so make sure to grab these free games as soon as they come out so you don’t accidentally miss them! Also make sure to grab The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 3, Zombi and Army of Two before the end of the month when January’s Games with Gold go back into the vault. (Sorry, you already missed Tomb Raider: Underworld if you didn’t pick it up already!)
